Young entomologists will learn which of the following is actually an insect: spiders, scorpions, crickets or crabs.
We’ll compare our own human athletic abilities to those of fleas and get to make models and drawings of our favorite insects.

Players pull flags off each other instead of tackling. This is as non-contact as basketball, but even safer because it’s played on grass.

This class provides young people with hands-on volunteer opportunities to help others throughout their local and global communities.
Through hands-on projects, such as Eat Wise-Exercise!, Kids Care Book Share, team up for Kids in Foster Care, and Holiday Hope Chests, Kids Who Care will help the elderly, hungry, homeless, disabled, sick, and victims of disasters.
The kids can:
• Make doggy blankets for the Humane Society
• Make Bingo prizes for senior centers
• Create Giggle Bags for children in the hospital
• Make Teddy Bears for foster children

Here, you and Movies by Kids can make your dream a reality.
Students create the storyboard and animate their own cartoon movies.
Young producers will learn about story structure, operate digital video
equipment, record cool character voice-overs and end up with their own
animated short film...Maybe another Shrek.
All movies will be professionally edited and a
DVD will be provided to
every young film-maker in the class.

You can make a movie like “Wallace & Gromit” or “Chicken Run.”
It’s done with
Claymation.
In this exciting class, students will cultivate a story, then design, create and
animate their own clay characters. Young Claymators get to operate the
digital cameras to bring their characters to life and then record the voices.
A professionally edited DVD movie will be the proud result.

And of course, all the indescribable subtleties necessary in readying a

In preparing a song, the coach/instructor can accompany the student
on piano...
or the student can bring in a Karaoke CD of a chosen song.

for the students.)
At the end of the session, parents will be invited to see a show.

Imagine starring in your own music video creation!
In this class, students choose their song, storyboard ideas, rehearse
performances and even scout the perfect locations to film. Once the props
and costumes have been gathered...filming begins!
The kids even get to
work behind the camera directing the action.
Of course, each finished music video will be professionally edited; a DVD

Class members are encouraged to bring in the music of their favorite artists
to learn
the secrets of their
cool dance steps.
And...come see your kids showcasing their new outrageous moves at the
final class performance.

These are those moves the kids will recognize from their favorite music videos.
It’s different than Hip-Hop.
This is a dance style all its own!
It’s an aerobic workout based on the Jazz/Funk style moves seen on
MTV and VH1. These cool routines are set to contemporary Pop/Hip-Hop
music.
It’s hip...It’s happening... It’s NOW!
The class begins with a funky warm-up, followed by some jammin’ variations
and combinations to get them into the groove.The students learn the
movements slowly, then gradually pick up the tempo.
Here’s that chance to learn the hottest funk dances and

Now here’s a cool and original kind of workout class that specifically
teaches the basics of tap-dancing, but...
it’s all done to
contemporary Pop and Hip-Hop style tunes.
This is a unique and high-energy dance-fitness program that uses the
body and tapping techniques to make the sounds that accompany the music.
It’s a feel-good way to learn great dance moves with the bonus of
getting and staying in shape at the same time.
Tap is a classic style of dancing born in the U.S.A. The excitement over
tap dancing has recently been rekindled worldwide by those lovable
penguins from the successful feature film, “Happy Feet.”
Kids love it.
This lively, rhythmic form of expression makes the performer not just a
dancer, but a percussive musician as well. Because of it’s rhythmic nature,
tap can even be applied to modern Pop tunes.
An added benefit for kids is the unique loud sound made by the tapping.
Smiles and laughter always accompany those happy feet.
And at the end of the session...
parents will be invited to a
fabulous performance where the kids can
show off their new moves.
If kids don’t have tap-shoes, we can even make arrangements to have
taps put on their shoes.

artistic expression in different ways of making the subject appear to be
jumping out of the black and into the light.

Create your own Comic-Book characters and...

Students can explore figure invention, costume design, page layout,
basic rules of perspective and storytelling in this
“How to Create a cool
Comic-Book” class.
The kids will have the opportunity to develop a basic understanding of
form, light and shadow, composition, color and principles of good
comic-book design.
All is taught in a simplified, easy-to-understand way.
(Still basic, but for older kids)
Create your own Fantasy or Reality world.
In this slightly more involved class, young artists can explore drawing, visual communication and image-making to develop their own ideas and concepts. Students will learn basic drawing skills that apply beyond the classroom.
The class will experiment with different illustration techniques to create an
illustrated book using found or original text.
Working in media such as pencil & paper, charcoal or paint, the idea is for
each student to have created a
finished piece by the end of the session.
There is such fascination and fantasy surrounding this great stylized art-form.

In this unique class experience, students will get the chance to explore
the world of
Videogame and Realistic Comic-Book Art.
With the basic building blocks of drawing, young artists will construct
their own unique characters and situations from the ground up.

Ever imagine that an ice cream sundae, a soda or a banana split
could be art?
Welcome to the wacky world of “Pop Art” where drawings or photos of
objects can be distorted, enlarged, altered, simplified or just plain
colored differently.
The rules are: There are no rules!
Kids can even paint on a picture of their own faces in wild colors.
Students may use a wide variety of media such as pastels, color pencils,
markers, paint, pen & ink, or fabric to create two-dimensional pieces
inspired by major Pop artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein,
Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg.
The kids will learn basic principles of art as their own original works immerge.
Each child will have produced a portfolio of artworks by the end of the session.
This amazing class allows students to explore the creative development
process
of making a toy.
It all starts with brain storming. Young artists will use simple
3-dimensional
design techniques to envision such possible projects as puppets,
clay action-figures, color vases, board games, animal figurines,
abstract sculptural art, art from junk......or whatever they can think of...
Due to its step-by-step nature, this wonderful class allows the student
designer to bring home project progress every week. And gradually......
Thee Idea Within shall be Revealed.
This class will indulge each child’s imagination as they learn basic drawing
techniques through cartooning.
Students can:
~ make up their own cartoon characters
~ learn how to draw various facial expressions
~ replicate classic cartoon characters of their choice
~ experiment with animation and movement
And...they can design movie posters, personalized stationary, comic strips
and
much, much more.
Students will have all kinds of fun learning how to draw cartoon characters
— then how to create the voices their characters might have and things they
might say. Together, the kids can have a blast putting together a cartoon
strip using their new drawings and voices in story form.
Your teacher is a successful cartoonist/voice-over artist whose character-
voices can be heard in
Disney films and theme parks throughout the world.
Doesn’t the title pretty much say it all?
Young artists get to create by either using teacher-supplied materials... or
bringing in
any old random stuff from home. They can even trade their
stuff with other students until each has just the right components to merge
into his or her own art masterpiece.
The class and the individual kid’s creations will never be the same twice.
That’s why it’s always so much fun to see what comes out.
Just like the kids themselves, every work of art is a true original.
A mini Acting Class
Students will learn the basics of acting including how to free up the breath
through various warm-up exercises.
The kids will get to do simple scene work. Then, broken up into small
groups, they’ll have the chance to develop their creativity by inventing
their own scenarios. Of course, the acting coach will guide them,
step-by-step, all the way. Finally, their theatrical creations can be
presented proudly to the rest of the group.
On the last day, the Parents will be invited to see the results.
This class brings age appropriate versions of the Bard’s plays to life in the
minds and hearts of children. Using movement, games, writing/storytelling,
art and performance, kids develop understanding of Shakespeare’s works.
They get to exercise their imaginations fully as well as improving focus,
listening and
sharing skills through performance.
In addition, Shakespeare’s characters teach about right and wrong, the
nature of truth, and how we should all treat one-another.
Enter the exciting world of Broadway!
Musical Theatre combines music, singing, dancing and the spoken word
in the telling of a story on stage.
The children will learn about the music, movement and humor that have
made this the enduring art-form that it has become.
They’ll learn about famous musicals such as: Oklahoma! The Sound of Music,
West Side Story, Les Miserables, Cats, The Phantom of the Opera,
The Producers... and more.
It’s in our nature to shake and pound on things.
Even our hearts beat.
In this super-fun musical class, we teach the kids about percussive sounds
and making them.
They will learn how to take either real percussion instruments or ordinary
everyday items like old pots and pans to
create music along with popular
tunes, all together as a group.
The students are even encouraged to bring in their favorite music for the
entire class to accompany.

These kids are here to play basketball. Boys and girls will learn

Not only do kids learn how to stand on one foot, two hands or their heads,
but they also get to have a
fantastically fun time doing it.
In this class students become mini yogis. Athletic or not, boys or girls,
everyone can be good at yoga. Shoes off and roll out a mat…In this
session there is enough yoga fun for everyone!
All yogis will be asked to have their own mats. For convenience, we can
